Houseplant Insects

Most houseplant insects or insect-related pests occur when plants aren't grown under ideal conditions, including poor humidity, lack of or too much light, or improper watering.

Newly purchased or introduced plants to the house should be separated from other plants for two months to avoid infesting other plants.

Common insects can be controlled with regular bathings or washings once a month. Make sure to wash the underside of leaves.

To control insects, use insecticidal soaps formulated for houseplants. Rubbing alcohol, carefully applies with a small brush or swab, can be used for some insects, such as scales and mealy bugs.
